About the event
Join us to hear what we are learning about good and ethical decision making in a pandemic and how to build public trust in those decisions.
What is the pandemic teaching us about how to make good and ethical decisions during a pandemic and how to build public trust in these decisions?
This webinar will communicate policy implications and recommendations from several Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funded studies conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic around the themes of:
• ethics in the treatment of healthcare staff
• engaging the public in decision-making
• the increase in fraud
• best practice and reform of procurement processes
• the equitable distribution of vaccines
Who should attend?
Policymakers, officials and stakeholders in national and local government; those with an interest in public procurement, criminal justice, healthcare and public health, emergency response management.
Format
Lightning presentations from speakers followed by open questions and discussion.

Speakers from the following AHRC studies:
• Nursing Narratives: Racism in the Pandemic
• Reset Ethics: Ethical decision-making in maternity care and paediatrics
• The Observatory for Monitoring Data-Driven Approaches to COVID-19
• The Role of Good Governance and the Rule of Law in Building Public Trust
The session will be chaired by Professor Pascale Aebischer (University of Exeter).
A Zoom link, along with speaker and presentation details and briefing papers for each project will be circulated to attendees following registration.
